Adult Companion Services are designed to provide non-medical support, supervision, and socialization for adults. At Bright Vision, we believe that staying connected is vital to well-being. Our companions provide a caring presence, helping with light household tasks and accompanying you to community events. This service is focused on preventing isolation and ensuring safety while promoting an active social life. Whether it’s a friendly conversation over a meal or help attending a local gathering, our companions are there to support your social goals with warmth and integrity.

Every plan for this service is personally reviewed and guided by a Registered Nurse.

Eligibility

Who Qualifies for
This Support?

In Minnesota, eligibility is often determined through a combination of your health needs and program-specific criteria.

  • Adults age 18 or older.
  • Must be enrolled in a qualifying Minnesota waiver (EW, AC, CADI, BI).
  • Must require non-medical supervision or social support to remain in the community.
  • Generally for individuals who do not need intensive physical hands-on care during the companion's visit.

Limitations & Boundaries

To provide the safest care, it’s important to understand the professional boundaries of this service:

Does not include hands-on personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
Companions cannot provide skilled medical or nursing tasks.
Cannot be used if the primary goal is intensive physical therapy or rehabilitation.
Authorized hours are based on your specific waiver support plan.
